Dee Ann says: Dall sheep are the only white sheep in the world and inhabit the subarctic mountain ranges of Alaska, the Yukon, Northwest Territories and northern British Columbia. After one of the more extensive hikes I have done over my 16 years in Alaska, to the Dall sheep of Denali, I was rewarded with three amazing rams. I had the opportunity of sharing eight hours observing their non-stop pre-rut jousting and head butting from ridge line to ridge line. It was such a remarkable photographic experience with such adrenaline. I could not put my camera down as I balanced on steep slopes of scree. There is no doubt Mother Nature designed these beautiful animals to navigate steep rocky slopes without effort which makes traversing this terrain quite the challenge for those of us not built for this.
