Watch this space...

Hey there. It’s been a while.

Out with the kites at Ocean Beach, San Francisco, on Thanksgiving 2024

This is just a quick update to announce that I’m going to start posting on this blog again. My job kept me busy (really busy) so I didn’t really have the time or energy to write posts, but now I’m ready to get back into the groove. I’ve got lots of fun ideas for posts, stuff to do with critters and conservation and everything in between! So keep an eye out for new updates every month or so.

Just a quick rundown of what I’ve been up to: I moved from New Zealand back to the US — specifically, to the San Francisco Bay Area. I worked for a company called KiwiCo for a while, as an editor and science writer. I got to see two (two!) solar eclipses. I went to the Galapagos, which I’ll definitely be posting about in the near future. I got a bunch of nature-y tattoos and cut my hair super short after having it super long for many years. I picked up some new hobbies. And while I still like photography, it’s not really my main focus (hah) anymore. It’s one of many, many tools we can use to get people invested in the natural world.

Anyway, to make up for more than 5 years without posting, here is a picture of my friend’s dog trying his best to lick the inside of my mouth.
